The Attic Radiation Shield / Firestop protects combustible framing in the floor or ceiling adjacent to the chimney and also acts as a firestop spacer.  When EXCELDirect passes through the Attic Radiation Shield into an insulated space, a storm collar (SC) must also be installed to prevent the entry of insulation.  This option CANNOT be used as a support and is typically used when the venting system will be enclosed.
