Multi Fuel and Pellet Ash Arrestor - Part # 71900304MF
The Ash Arrester was designed to greatly reduce the emission of fly-ash into the environment, as well as to virtually eliminate the staining of siding and /or decking materials on the outside of the building. These are the solutions to major problems commonly associated with burning a pellet or multi-fuel stove. Independent tests have shown the Ash Arrestor to reduce the amount of fly-ash typically exhausted from a pellet stove by approximately 80% - 90% (depending on the specific appliance). The entire product is double walled and encased with ½” ceramic fiber insulation, which eliminates condensation inside the ash basin and improves exhaust draft. The Ash Arrestor also makes cleaning of the vent system easier and a much less dirty task. Simply insert the brush into the Ash Arrestor’s cleaning nozzle and clean; 100% of the residual ash falls into the ash basin of the apparatus. Finally, the Ash Arrestor can be easily removed from its mounting brackets for easy disposal of collected fly-ash.
The Ash Arrestor replaces the standard termination cap in the pellet vent system, allowing the last section of pellet vent to terminate into the Ash Arrestor. The special inside exhaust baffle forces the exhaust first downward, allowing the ash to settle, while the exhaust heat is allowed to escape upward, thereby trapping the majority of the ash content in the ash basin before exiting.
The use of special easy release brackets allows the Ash Arrestor to be easily removed for the ash disposal by removing six cap nut fasteners from the side of the appliance. The brackets also serve to keep three inches of the clearance from the building structure. Cleaning the Ash Arrestor is clean and easy thanks to the use of the “Sweeps Nozzle”. Simply remove the top of the Ash Arrestor and assemble your vent brush on to the rod that has been put through the nozzle in the front of the Ash Arrestor. Then clean as usual allowing the ash to be pulled into the Ash Arrestor catch basin instead of all over the ground and yourself.
The entire inside of the Ash Arrestor is made from either type 304 stainless steel or AL29-4C, which is a highly corrosion resistant stainless steel that can withstand the corrosive effects of burning bio-fuels such as corn, switch grass, cherry pits, wood pellets, and others. The outside casing of the Ash Arrestor is made from type 3003 aluminum and powder coated black, which provides outside corrosion resistance as well as reduced the weight of the overall system.
